In the center of Sjusjøen, there is a large grocery store, a sportshop where you also can rent skis or bikes and a restaurant/bar.
Nearby, you can get into skitracks that stretch for miles. The area is suitable for both beginners and more experienced skiers.
In the summer season, there are plenty of different hikes and routes for trips by bike, and there are possibilities to swim in the lake, or go fishing.
You can get to Lillehammer in about 30 minutes. Lillehammer is a charming city with small shops and places to sit down for a meal or just for a cup of coffee. The outdoor museum, Maihaugen, is open all year, but has most activity during the summer.
A little bit further north, you can find the two popular family parks Hunderfossen and Lilleputthammer.
Hunderfossen is based on Norwegian folk trails and has a lot of fun attractions. This park is also open for a limited time during the winter. Lilleputthammer is old Lillehammer in miniature and has also some fun attractions. Most suitable for the younger ones.
